Yvonne Afriyie - Early Years Education and Business Consultant

With over 25 years of dedicated to ensuring high standards in curricular and educational practices across all early years and preschool settings and childcare consultancy. I am deeply committed to helping educational providers create thriving, effective learning environments.  With a Bachelor's degree in Primary Education, a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies, an NNEB qualification, and specialised training in SEN teaching and business management, I bring both theoretical insight and practical skills to confidently and creatively tackle complex challenges in early years settings.

My journey..

I began my career as an educator in the early years sector, gaining practical experience in inspiring young minds and supporting their development. Building on this, I took on roles in nursery operations, curriculum development, quality assessment, accreditation project management, including leadership in the 'Forest School' approach, as well as coaching and mentoring educator management teams. Eventually, I became an Ofsted Shadowing Inspector. This journey has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the educational systems and practices essential for successful childcare. I have collaborated closely with leaders and business owners in the early years and education sector, steering them towards strategic enhancements that improve both educational standards and business outcomes.

My dedication to early childhood education stems from the conviction that every child deserves a nurturing and enriching beginning in life. I founded Inspire Kids Childcare Consultancy to bring that belief to life, working closely with providers who are equally committed to excellence. Having witnessed the transformative power of well-structured, engaging environments and what it means to children's overall development, I strive to empower early years providers, managers, educators and leadership teams to create educational settings where children and families all benefit.

Over the years, I have observed the challenges faced by nurseries and educational provisions including the retention of educators, balancing curriculum requirements with budget constraints, adapting to changes in regulations, and sustaining a high-quality learning environment that fosters the growth and development of both children and staff. My goal is to support providers in addressing these challenges with practical, strategies that align with their unique missions and goals.
